What We Do
Data Centers
Data centers are multiplying across Georgia, and their energy and water use is staggering. They can power artificial intelligence, but they also consume as much electricity as entire cities and fail to deliver the best water systems possible. If they’re allowed to rely on expensive fossil fuels, families will pay the price on their utility bills because customers will pay for the infrastructure required to make that power happen.
Our Position
Data Centers Need to Be Good Neighbors
We’re not opposed to data centers, but they need to be good neighbors. Many municipalities have created moratoriums that buy time for the government to assess the best locations and the realistic impact of these facilities. For many, the price is too high.
The Bottom Line
Fair Deals for Every Community
Whether rural or urban, we all deserve fair deals from corporations profiting from our land and resources. Local leadership ensures that big data projects don’t drain community resources without giving back.
